First I want to open with a disclaimer: this product won't revolutionize your life or change how you think about wallets. It's my attempt at making “merch” for my Merisi brand. A useful item made with care and honest materials.
The familiar Merisi.Works - Houston, TX stamp on the inside, a subtle corner logo emboss on the exterior, and a layout that holds what you need (3 cards, photo ID, cash, plus two additional inside pockets for insurance cards, residency IDs, etc.). I’m calling it Portafoglio (Italian for "wallet"). It's a leather bifold made from American full-grain leather. The kind that develops a natural patina over time. I’ve been dailying a prototype for a few months now and really enjoy how it feels in hand and appreciate the subtle visual changes it takes on with use.
I have been asked to make merch for a few years now but haven’t found anything I’m personally interested in using. I've never wanted to do t-shirts or baseball hats that I wouldn't personally wear. Portafoglio is my first real attempt at offering something additional that feels true to how I work: quality materials, intentional design, and something I'd actually use for myself.
