Merisi 500C/M

500C/M

500C/M is a new TKL layout top mount keyboard design from Merisi.Works. A continuation of the Hasselblad style, the 500C/M features a slanted accent piece on top with rounded corners reminiscent of the glossy frame on the iconic camera body. The accent has the familiar "Merisi" signature on the left similar to the 500C which ran as a group buy in 2023.

The accent piece is attached to the top case by the bottom case screws, acting as a clamp for the top case. This eliminates the need for additional screws and threading during the manufacturing process. It also helps keep the individual pieces looking a bit cleaner when they are disassembled.

Plate & PCB

500C/M uses an updated version of the Ottantaquattro plate. Switch and stabilizer cutouts are the same. Plate mounting holes are fixed for easier alignment during the build. PCB is the solder only Infinity87 from Mechlovin. A daughterboard will be used and placed in the standard TKL position between F12 and PrtScr. I've worked with Mechlovin's team for 5 years and they continue to impress with their world class customer support and quick turnaround during the design process.

Using a similar plate and typing angle as my previous TKL, the user experience will be comparable to the Ottantaquattro builds which can be seen and heard on typing videos which my customers have shared on YouTube these past few years.

The bottom stainless steel through-weight design is similar to the 500C.

Group Buy

500C/M Group Buy will be in Q4 2024 and delivery will take about 10 months.
The group buy process will be two instances of "First Come First Serve (FCFS)" split by 12 hours. Total order amount will be limited similar to previous Merisi projects.

FCFS date will be Friday, November 1st.
Limited FCFS instance at 9am CDT & another at 9pm CDT.
Base kit is $610 and extra components can be ordered a few days after the FCFS sales are done.
