Merisi Quality Control (QC) Standards
These standards define how Merisi grades and classifies products before they ship to customers
Anodized Aluminum Products
During the anodizing process, slight color differences between the top and bottom surfaces, smearing, and faint lines on the keyboard may arise. These are inherent to the anodizing process and are considered normal.
Due to the drying process, the interior of keyboards may acquire hook marks. CNC marks, scratches, and discoloration that are not visible after assembly (interior of the keyboard and interior of the weight) are not eligible for return or exchange.
| Grade | Dents | Scratches |
|---|---|---|
| A Stock | Below 1mm | Below 3mm |
| A- Minus Stock | Over 1mm | Over 3mm, or other minor flaws |
| B Stock (not sold) | Over 4mm | Over 7mm, or other minor flaws |
PCB Policy
PCBs are only eligible for replacement if found defective at initial testing. Once installation or assembly has begun, PCB damage is no longer covered under QC. It is always recommended to test the PCB before soldering as the PCB components can sometimes get damaged in transit. A soldered PCB is not eligible for replacement.
General Exclusions
The following are excluded from Merisi QC standards:
- Interior surfaces Small CNC marks, scratches, and discoloration not visible after assembly are considered acceptable and are not grounds for return or exchange.
- Hook marks on the interior from the anodizing drying process are expected and accepted. This is a manufacturing standard process which is almost unavoidable. The hook marks are usually 1-3mm in size and ONLY visible on the interior.
- Slight color variation, smearing, and faint lines resulting from the anodizing process are considered normal. Every effort is made to make sure these are as minimal as possible for A Stock units.
Disclaimer
There are humans involved in every step of the keyboard design and manufacturing process. Mistakes happen, and sometimes minor errors or scuffs go unnoticed. I appreciate your understanding when these things occur, and if you believe something is unacceptable, please reach out and I will do my best to make things right.
